Seven Turkish security personnel have been confirmed dead after a reconnaissance plane crashed in eastern Van province, the Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu said on Thursday.
Soylu said the plane crashed on a mountain at an altitude of 2,200 feet (670 metres). Among the dead are two pilots.
Accident investigators are working to determine the cause of the crash the minister said.
According to the NTV broadcaster report, the plane disappeared from radar 13 minutes later, after the last contact from the plane was received at 10.32 pm (1932 GMT) on Wednesday.
