Air Atlanta Icelandic Acquires Their First Boeing 777

An Iceland based leasing and charter airline group, Air Atlanta  Icelandic has acquired its first  Boeing-777 aircraft from Emirates the original lessor GECAS. The aircraft will now be registered as TC-ACA.

The Boeing-777 aircraftt was originally delivered to the Emirates as A6-EBC in 2005 with a construction number (MSN) 32790 and line number as 512. The aircraft is configured in a 3-class configuration with a total of 364 seats and the power station operates on 2x General Electrics GE-90 engines.

The aircraft was withdrawn from operations in February 2000 and currently stored at Sharjah International Airport (SH/OMSJ) in the UAE and will be delivered to the new owner Air Atlanta  Icelandic in few weeks time.

The charter and ACMI Airline is known as the “Boeing 747 experts” as they are a huge operator of Boeing aircrafts . They are famous for Hajj and Umrah operations with Saudi Airlines. They have operated a huge fleet of Boeing 737, Boeing 747 and Boeing 747 Freighters in the past.

They have phased out the Passenger version Boeing 747s due to the coronavirus situation and the less demand among the airlines. The TC-ACA will be their first ever Boeing 777. However, this Boeing 777-300ER can be further operated for at least 5 more years.
