Air France has revealed its first new routes of the 2023 summer season, with flights to East Africa receiving special focus. The carrier has tweaked its service to Tanzania and will introduce Dar Es Salam in its network as a continuation of the service to Zanzibar. That’s not all! More flights to Nairobi (Kenya) and Antananarivo (Madagascar) are also part of the schedule for next year.

Paris – Dar Es Salam flights

Air France will connect Paris-Charles de Gaulle to Dar Es Salam in Tanzania from June 12th, 2023. The flight will be a continuation of the service to Zanzibar, also located in Tanzania. The carrier will operate these flights three times per week with a Boeing 787-9, offering 30 seats in business, 21 in premium economy, and 225 in economy.

Dar Es Salam is also served by KLM with a daily flight departing from Amsterdam, also as a continuation of the service to Zanzibar. These flights by the Air France-KLM Group will offer passengers more choices to make convenient connections.

Air France will operate the flights as per the following schedule:

Flight AF876

Departs Paris-Charles de Gaulle at 10:20 on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays and lands in Zanzibar at 20:15. Departs from Zanzibar at 21:45 and lands in Dar Es Salam at 22:20.

Return flight AF876 (same number)

Departs Dar Es Salam at 23:50 on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays and lands at Paris-Charles de Gaulle at 07:55 the following day.

Denser African network next year

Air France will increase the service to Zanzibar to thrice a week in 2023. Currently, there are two flights a week on this route. On June 12th, the carrier will also introduce a daily non-stop service in both directions between Paris and Nairobi in Kenya using its Boeing 787-9 aircraft. Currently, it operates six weekly flights on this route.

 

Air France will also offer a denser flight schedule between Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Antananarivo (Madagascar) from next summer, with five non-stop weekly flights compared to the current four. These will be operated by Airbus A350-900 aircraft, offering 34 seats in business, 24 in premium economy, and 266 in economy.

New York Area and Hong Kong are in focus, too

Air France recently returned to Newark Liberty International Airport after 10 years, with flight 62 landing at EWR after a seven-hour and thirty-six-minute journey from Paris. It now serves the larger New York area with flights with both JFK and EWR.

The airline’s year-round service to Hong Kong, which is currently suspended, is expected to resume on January 9th, 2023, with three weekly flights on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays (return flights on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays). These will be operated by a Boeing 777-300ER.
