Bandits Attack Kaduna Airport A Second Time

In the late hours of Saturday the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) staff Quarters in Kaduna Airport, the second time in two weeks experienced a horrendous attacks from bandits.

However, unlike the first time when some staff of Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) and Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMET) was abducted, the military this time foiled the attacks

According to information gathered  “Bandits on the rampage again in Kaduna Airport. Following last week attack on the FAAN aviation quarters in Kaduna airport. The bandits in their hundreds attacked Kaduna airport today at 1130hrs.

“Their attempt to kidnap a DGM in the senior staff quarters was foiled by the quick response of the military. As at the time of filing this report the sound of gunshot could be heard from multiple directions.

From a reliable source,  the bandits gained access to their quarry through Runway 23  and 05.

The first time it happened, the armed bandits in the early hours of Saturday March 6, 2021 attacked the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) Quarters in Kaduna, abducting about 11 persons who are staff of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET) and their families.

The gunmen, who returned to the quarters met a stiff resistance from a combined team of the Nigerian Air Force and Nigerian Army.
A FAAN official, said the gunmen came through a different route.
“They did not come through the airport side; this time around, they came through another side of the quarters but security agents were prepared for them.”
A resident of the senior staff quarters said the gunmen had targeted one of the houses in the premises but security agents were on ground.
