Frontier Airlines on March 8, 2021 filed for an initial public offering (IPO) of stock with the US Securities and Exchange Commission, a year after cancelling its previous bid for a $100 million offering that it initiated in 2017.
Frontier Airlines appeal for an IPO on Monday, is a second attempt at public disclosure that comes as the industry tries to bounce back from the Covid-19 pandemic.
The airline is currently owned by private equity firm Indigo Partners, whose managing partner is airline industry veteran and low-cost pioneer Bill Franke.
The carrier suffered a loss of $ 225 million in 2020 on revenue of $ 1.25 billion, compared to net profit of $ 251 million on sales of $ 2.5 billion a year earlier , according to a regulatory filing Monday.
The company scrapped plans for an IPO last summer after it was filed in 2017. Also plans to list on the Nasdaq under the symbol FRNT.
