One of Nigerian major carrier, Azman Air today canceled its commercial flight operation to Lagos, following the new directive issued by the state Governor, Babajide Sanwo-olu as a result of the on-going ENDSARS protest, taking place across the 36 states in Nigeria.
The airline took to its Official Twitter account to inform all its passenger of the flight cancellation. “This is to inform our Lagos bound Passengers that all flights are hereby cancelled till further notice, This is due to the directive issued by Lagos State Government to impose a 24hr Curfew on all parts of Lagos starting from 4pm today. We deeply regret all Inconveniencies.”
The directive which came from the Governor, at the early hours of Today via his official twitter account stated “Dear Lagosians, I have watched with shock how what began as a peaceful #EndSARS
protest has degenerated into a monster that is threatening the well-being of our society. Lives and limbs have been lost as criminals and miscreants are now hiding under the umbrella.
of these protests to unleash mayhem on our state. As a government that is alive to its responsibility and has shown a commitment to the movement #ENDSARS. We will not watch and allow anarchy in our dear state.
I, therefore, hereby impose a 24-hour curfew on all parts of the State as from 4pm today, 20th October,2020. Nobody, except essential service providers and first responders must be found on the streets.”
