270 stranded Nigerians have been evacuated in Egypt by the Nigerian government, This was contained in a tweet by the Nigerians In Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), and they are to arrive the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja by 6.00pm local time.
The tweet noted the Egypt air flight departed with two other nationals and It also revealed that all evacuees tested negative for COVID-19.
The tweet noted: “270 Stranded Nigerians departed Cairo Egypt via @eayptair for Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja with two other Nationals.
“The flight is expected to arrive around 6:00 pm local time today.
“All evacuees tested negative for COVID-19.”
The Presidential Taskforce on Covid-19 has set July ending date for the conclusion of the evacuation process of stranded Nigerians across the world who have indicated interest to be evacuated .About 4000 Nigerians are stranded in various countries due to the pandemic and about 3000 evacuated back to Nigeria since the process started.
