NIGERIA: Minister of Aviation lists Expectations from International Flight Passengers Ahead of Resumption

The Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika has listed the expectations of the Federal Government from  passengers ahead of the resumption of international flights on August 29, 2020.

After the minister Disclosed the resumption date for international flight this via the official Twitter handle  on Monday, the minister said: “A portal  will also be opened for passengers to pay for another COVID-19 test to be done eight days after arrival in Nigeria.”

Expectations include;  passengers to take a COVID-19 test wherever they are coming from. This should be done very close to departure dates.

International passengers will also fill in health questionnaires online, and hand them in at the point of entry, instead of filling the forms on the aircraft or upon arrival.

“Non-pharmaceutical measures including physical distancing, wearing of nose masks, washing of hands, and temperature checks will remain in place.”

The flight operation is expected to start with the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos and the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja airports as was done with domestic flight resumptions. Sirika said that protocols and procedures will be announced in due course.
