NIGERIA: Political Aides Will Not Be Allowed Into Airports

According to the minister of aviation, Hadi Sirika ” all those who have no business in travelling will certainly not be allowed to enter the airports.’

The minister stated this on Thursday during an interactive session with members of senate committee in Abuja.

Sirirka who made a particular reference to politicians and their aides, said “we have circulated the information and Mr. President has approved it. therefore “anybody coming into the airport this time around as a personality, a minister or even honourable members and distinguished senators, will not be allowed to carry their aides into the airports any longer.”

“we will provide for them security for the VIPs , so the VIPs should help us and take responsibility to ensure they don’t add to the problems of our country”

the Minister also gave a reminder of fligt resumption, stating that Abuja and Lagos airports will resume operations on July 8, while Kano, Port Harcourt, Owerri, Maiduguri will resume on July 12 and the remaining airports will resume on July 15.

speaking about the increase in airfare, Sirika said  “price is not in my hand, but like i said, with what we have put in place i don’t think that anything significant will happen to affect the propensity to fly.
