President Muhammadu Buhari has sought the Senate’s confirmation of the immediate past Director ,Consumer Protection Directorate (CPD), Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, Alhaji Adamu Abdullahi, as the Executive Commissioner Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission.
Alhaji Adamu, is among eight directors appointed across the geo- political zones by the President in a recent letter to the Senate for approval.
Those appointed are Emeka Nwampa as Chairman, Babatunde Irukera as Executive Vice Chairman/CEO and Yinka Osoba Apata as Executive Director.
Other Non Executive Directors are:Wakili Abdullahi Ahmed, Ayang Francis Eyam,Ben Nwoye and Theophilus Oyebiyi.
Alhaji Adamu was Director of Consumer Protection in the NCAA for 11years before bowing out of the agency.
In a letter to the Senate, the president sought the confirmation of Emeka Nwankpa (Chairman South-East), Babatunde lrukera (Executive Vice Chairman/CEO North-central), Yinka Osoba Apata (Executive Commissioner South-west) and Adamu Ahmed Abdullahi (Executive Commissioner North-east).
Others are Wakili Abdullahi Ahmed (Non-Executive Commissioner North-west), Ayang Francis Eyam (Non-Executive Commissioner South-south), Ben Nwoye (Non-Executlve Commissioner South-east) and Theophilus Oyebiyi (Non-Executive Commissioner North-central).
The former Director Consumer Protection Directorate NCAA, Alhaji Adamu Abdullahi had before an impending shakeup at the aviation regulatory organization resigned his appointment as director before he was unexpectedly nominated for the current position, his letter was accepted.
Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari has replaced the nomination of Peter Gana (Niger) and Yusuf Mohammed (Yobe) with Muhammed Manta and Yusufu Yunusa from Niger and Yobe States respectively the two non-careers ambassadors-designate earlier appointed.
The new appointment was contained in a letter seeking confirmation of the new nominees which was read out by the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, during plenary on Tuesday.
He replaced the nomination of Peter Gana (Niger) and Yusuf Mohammed (Yobe) with Muhammed Manta and Yusufu Yunusa from Niger and Yobe States respectively.
