Chief Operating Officer Virgin Atlantic,Corneel Koster has said that the airline is receiving 1,000 refund requests a day despite easing travel restrictions around the world. The COO made the remark during an interview with Telegraph Travel.and further said the carrier was excited to resume flights today but that cancellations were ongoing, in part due to travel restrictions in the US.
He said 10,000 customers were contacting the carrier daily about refunds and rebooking.
Koster said the pandemic had been “intense” and that “no one every expected that we would be facing a situation like this with such an impact”. The airline’s passenger numbers fell 98 per cent for the second quarter of 2020.
